ThereвЂ™s no guarantee that youвЂ™ll win every race the first time, but you can certainly try. Several races can be found in each city, which you can choose to compete in at any time. The overall flow of the game is free-form and doesnвЂ™t pin you into a certain path. ItвЂ™s just you, your cars, and three giant cities to explore. YouвЂ™re not trying to steal cars, bust an underground poodle smuggling ring, or anything else. Other than your mechanic, there arenвЂ™t any real characters in the game that push Career mode along. Even muscle cars, which are known for their loud engines, sound underpowered.ДUB does away with the silly storyline featured in the second game. Engine sounds are good and far from the supped-up vacuum cleaners heard in other racing games, yet thereвЂ™s a lack of вЂњpowerвЂќ behind the sounds. IвЂ™ve never been blown away by engine sounds in racing games, and DUB continues that trend. IвЂ™ve always felt this is one of the most underused features on the Xbox, so IвЂ™m happy to see it getting some much-needed support. Custom soundtracks are also supported for those who want to add their own stuff in. Obviously this mix isnвЂ™t going to appeal to everyone, so Rockstar threw in the option of limiting in-game tracks to just one style. ItвЂ™s a definite rush.ДUBвЂ™s soundtrack is an eclectic mix of rap, rock, and techno. Whether I was darting through midtown traffic or threading the needle between two oncoming cars, it always seemed like I was going somewhere fast. With the possible exception of the Burnout series, I canвЂ™t recall the last time I really felt like I was really going fast in a racing game. The stylish detail comes second to DUBвЂ™s real visual attention grabber вЂ“ its sense of speed. At the same time, theyвЂ™re presented under a slick veneer to add a little spice to the mix. Recognizable landmarks are scattered throughout each city to show where itвЂ™s modeled after. Cities feature the same stylized attention to detail. In the tradition of past Midnight Club games, DUB is all about fast-paced, arcade-style street racing.ДЄll of the gameвЂ™s licensed vehicles, which range from tuners to choppers, are modeled accurately enough that you can tell what they are, yet still have the unique visual flair seen in all Rockstar-produced games. If youвЂ™re looking for a realistic racer, you wonвЂ™t find it here. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition isnвЂ™t Forza Motorsport or Gran Turismo, and it really doesnвЂ™t try to be.
